A working carrier, not a software company.
KLT Profit is built by Kemp Legacy Trucking, a family hot shot carrier running an F350 out of Georgia. Every feature on this site exists because a real load went wrong without it.

It started as a spreadsheet
Before any of this was an app, it was a workbook on a laptop in a kitchen. A load would come in at $2.20 a mile, which sounds like money, and somebody would sit down and work out what was actually left after diesel, after the eighty empty miles to get to the pickup, after the share of the insurance and the truck payment those miles carry, and after the dispatcher's cut off the top.
The arithmetic was not complicated. Doing it at six in the morning, on a phone, with a broker on the other end of the line waiting for an answer, was. So loads got taken on gut feel, and some of them lost money that nobody found out about until the month was closed.
The verdict rule on this site is the spreadsheet's rule. A load has to clear 30 cents a mile after the truck has paid for itself before it gets called a good one. That number came off the workbook, not out of a product meeting, and the app was changed to match the sheet the carrier already trusted rather than the other way round.
What that means for the product
A few things follow from being the customer as well as the builder, and they are the reasons this app is shaped the way it is:
- The screenshots are real. Every image on this site is the running app, photographed off a demo carrier we keep for the purpose. Nothing is a mockup, and nothing is generated.
- The dispatcher cannot see the margin. That is not a feature somebody asked for in a survey. It is what you want when the person booking your freight is paid a percentage of the gross.
- The app argues with your own numbers. Setup asks you to estimate your monthly miles, and most people guess high. A couple of weeks in, it compares the guess to your real loads and offers to correct it, because a cost per mile built on a wrong mileage figure is worse than no cost per mile at all.
- Nothing is held hostage. When a trial or a subscription ends, every load, every payout and every broker stays yours and downloads as a spreadsheet. We have been on the wrong end of software that does the opposite.
Where we actually are
Being straight about this matters more than looking bigger than we are. KLT Profit is early. It is not a venture-backed company with a support floor and a customer logo wall, and you will not find one on this site because we are not going to invent one.
What we can tell you is what the software does, show you it doing it, and let you run your own last load through it for fourteen days without giving us a card. If the number it gives you is not worth what we are asking, do not pay us.
Built for the trucks we know. Hot shot, box truck, cargo van and semi, for one truck or a small fleet. If you run something the setup does not fit, say so and we will tell you honestly whether the numbers will hold up for you.
